Where can I find official information on the requirements for a concealed pistol permit?

I need to find out exactly who gives the permits and exactly how they look at your background and eligibility for the state of Washington.

I'm using the information in an essay, so just telling me the information won't cut it; I need to know where I can find the official law or something, so I can cite it.



Basically, I need to know what it takes to own a gun in this state, so I can make my argument as to whether the requirements are too lenient or whatnot.

Both are in totally different worlds. My advice would be to call a local gun shop owner or gun club and ask them for the resources and/or interview.
