Do i have a case here?

I worked at fazolis and i called the labor board and health department. I called the labor board because i was working overtime and my general manager would change my time clock punches (yes i seen her do it i was also a manager and had access to this) so i wouldnt have it so she wouldnt get in trouble. I called the health department because she would serve food off the floor and let employees do it and she would also serve food that had unthawed and then been refrozen. Then i went in to work and her exact words were " We have to let you go because of misconduct because you called the health department and labor board and the owners are very upset." I would like to know if i can sue and if this was wrongful termination?Do i have a case here?
Yes, but you would need proof that you were a good employee (constant promotion, production statistics, coworker vouches, or whatever.) You will also need someone (unbiased party) who can say that they witnessed health violations. Going to court can be expensive so it may not be worth it for you.

If you dont want to go to court I would advise you to still not let them get away with this...Use the media! Call your local news investigation team and explain what happen. The restaurant will get tons of bad plublicity.

Good for you for standing up to them :DDo i have a case here?
There is a "whistleblower law", which protects you from being fired for reporting violations to the proper authorities. So if she stated exactly what you stated, then yes - you have a case.

Contact a lawyer and get going.Do i have a case here?
From ONLY the facts you presented it would seem so. But before any attorney would take your case there would have to be some form of proof such as the DOL investigation.

The particular case type you would pursue is retaliatory termination which is subject not only to fines but very large penalties and civil fines and penalties.Do i have a case here?
absolutly.

if you can get some employees that still work there to testify on what has been going on you will be good.

talk to a lawyer and see what they have to say.\

usually lawyers will give one free first time visit to discuss a case.

good luck.

and if you win a lot of money, look me up.
So what if you can!

This is a job with a sloppy place! Do you really want all that negative energy?

Go on with your life.
