What information am I required to provide my landlord?

I am renting a room from someone who is subletting a room. I have already given them the information on my driver's license, but they are still requesting a color photocopy. Is this within their legal right? Thank you. What information am I required to provide my landlord?Yes they can request it, there's nothing wrong with giving them a copy of your license but I'd do what the other poster stated, write void across the top. They probably want to verify you are who you say you are.

I've never required a copy of someone's license when I sublet a room in my condo, I just checked references. What information am I required to provide my landlord?Yes it is.

They want to verify that you are who you say you are.

If it's very uncomfortable for you to give them this, ask them two questions:

(1) why they need it,

(2) is there any other form of ID that would work as well?

But...you're probably not going to get satisfactory answers. Just give them the copy and write the word "VOID" across the license picture so they can't use it for any other purposes. And get information about what they will do with your personal information once they collect it. What information am I required to provide my landlord?I don't know about that, but my application form requires social security number, bank name and account number, job information and history, personal references... You don't provide what I want and you don't get the place. Your choice.
