Does anyone have any information about working abroad with a Scottish social work qualification?

Help!

I'm really stuck! I've been looking everywhere for information about working abroad, but can't seem to find a thing. I'm trying to find out if a Scottish qualification is accepted in other countries (USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia), how to go about the visa side of things, etc. Does anyone know where I could contact to get information? It would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much, John.Does anyone have any information about working abroad with a Scottish social work qualification?I have found a few websites for you that might answer your questions. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Does anyone have any information about working abroad with a Scottish social work qualification?A lot will depend on the actual Qualification - Degree - HND - or SVQs etc

From your list I would think the US would be the most difficult and you do not state if you wish to seek permanent employment in these countries or just visit for a working holiday.

I previously worked in Adult psychiatric care and a colleague moved to stay with family in NZ - she did say her SVQs were accepted and she worked in a young adult care facility.

The embassies of the countries you mention will have info about visas and other requirements.

see here for Canada

I guess other countries will have similar organisations.

see

and the swrb link

Might be a long haul to get the info you need.

But I guess that there would be other work you could do in these countries until you got all the paper work sorted.

I guess you could try just emailing these organisations with details of your quals and asking.

There will also be many "agencies" that offer help with visas etc - beware they will charge you a fortune for doing what embassies etc will do for free.
