How do you move information from your external hard drive to your computer?

We had to move all of our information, documents, pictures, everything to an external hard drive (Seagate brand) so we could get our computer fixed or something. We backed up all of our files. Now we want to move all of that information back from the external hard drive to the computer. How do we do so?
